MEET OUR FOUNDER — SHAWN VARGO

Founder Shawn Vargo brings 25 years of law-enforcement experience and an extensive public-safety background to SMV Protection Services LLC. Vargo spent 24 years with the Inkster Police Department, where his experience included patrol operations, service with the department's Tactical Team, assignments within the Detective Bureau, supervisory responsibilities, and ultimately command-level leadership. Today, he continues to serve as an active law-enforcement officer.

His career has provided experience across a wide range of public-safety environments—from criminal investigations and tactical operations to personnel supervision, critical incidents, and organizational leadership. That real-world experience helped shape SMV Protection Services LLC’s approach to security: prepare thoroughly, identify threats early, communicate effectively, de-escalate when possible, and respond decisively when necessary.

Vargo's public-safety background extends beyond law enforcement. His experience also includes professional firefighting and emergency medical response, giving him experience across all three core disciplines of community emergency response: Police, Fire, and Medical.
